A simple trial
- Choose a clear timeframe (e.g., 8–12 weeks).
- Define 3 behaviors that must change (observable, not “feelings”).
- Agree on accountability (sessions, homework, check-ins).
- At the end, decide using evidence, not fatigue.
If you can’t get honest participation, counseling often becomes a way to delay the decision — not resolve it.
